Grand Oasis of the Nile” – From Aswan to Wadi Halfa

Join an extraordinary journey across one of the world’s largest man-made lakes — Lake Nasser — on board the first environmentally friendly cruise ship in Africa and the Middle East. This voyage blends luxury, sustainability, culture, and ancient history through rarely seen Nubian landmarks and breathtaking desert landscapes.

Day 1: Arrival in Aswan – Embarkation

  • Check-in on board the Moon Star.
  • Welcome reception and orientation session.
  • Enjoy your first evening on the deck with panoramic views of Lake Nasser.

Day 2: Aswan – High Dam & Philae Temple

  • Morning visit to the Aswan High Dam, an engineering marvel that created Lake Nasser.
  • Excursion to the relocated Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis.
  • Return to the ship and begin sailing southward into the serene lake.
  • Evening entertainment: Nubian folklore show on board.

Day 3: Kalabsha – Wadi El Seboua

  • Visit the Kalabsha Temple Complex, known for its beautiful carvings and impressive preservation.
  • Continue sailing and enjoy the untouched desert views.
  • Afternoon stop at Wadi El Seboua, home to a dramatic sphinx-lined avenue leading to ancient temples.
  • Optional: Guided hike to nearby Nubian archaeological remains.

Day 4: Amada – Qasr Ibrim – Abu Simbel

  • Visit the Amada Temple, one of the oldest temples in Nubia.
  • Scenic viewing (from the deck) of Qasr Ibrim, the only Nubian monument still in its original location, standing on a cliff above the lake.
  • Arrival at Abu Simbel in the afternoon.
  • Guided tour of Ramses II and Nefertari’s Temples, one of Egypt’s most iconic sites.
  • Optional: Attend the Abu Simbel Sound & Light Show in the evening.

Day 5: Border Crossing – Nile Wildlife Experience – Wadi Halfa

  • Morning sailing toward the Egypt-Sudan border.
  • Observe wildlife in and around the lake, including rare birds and Nile crocodiles.
  • Arrival at Wadi Halfa, a peaceful Sudanese lakeside town.
  • Optional: Light walking tour and interaction with the local community.

Day 6: Disembarkation in Wadi Halfa

  • Breakfast on board.
  • Final group photo and farewell ceremony.
  • Disembarkation and optional transfer arrangements for further travel into Sudan or return to Aswan.
